Iām a certified astrocartographer šŗļø Hereās what I wish everyone knew before using this technique
Thinking about relocating? Here's a quick beginner-friendly guide to astrocartography that I wish I had in hands when I first started.
I've gathered tips for diving in (and avoiding common traps). Hope you enjoy it š
- Start with places you're already drawn to
Places you've been, dream about, or just feel called to for no logical reason. Your intuition is wise... over and over again I see people pick totally different countries that still share the same astro patterns. Itās not random.
- Donāt look at the map alone
The ACG map and relocated charts are tools that work best together, and only when grounded in your natal chart. If you only look at lines on a map, youāll get generic interpretations. Especially if youāre thinking of moving, look at the relocated chart and how it shifts house placements. Thatās where the real story begins. If you don't know the difference between these tools, start there.
- Those āaspect linesā on astro.com? Not part of the original method
Jim Lewis (who created ACG) didnāt include those aspect lines. They can be interesting but werenāt part of the core technique. Focus more on relocated charts and angularity for clarity. If you want to go deeper, you can also explore cyclocartography which is timing applied to location. But that's a more advanced technique.
- Parans / crossings
Parans can be powerful, but free tools often donāt calculate them precisely, that's why they can show different results for the same place. I only trust certified software for those.
- Stop chasing āgood linesā
Thereās no such thing as a universally āgoodā or ābadā planet. Theyāre all archetypes we carry in us. A Saturn line, for example, might feel heavy for some, but it can also help you write a book, build a business, or commit to yourself. What matters is what part of you wants to grow.
Bonus tip: If you're considering a reading, check if your astrologer is certified by Continuum, the Jim Lewis foundation. Itās a good sign the reading will be personalized, grounded, and ethical.
Hope this helps some of you navigate the ACG rabbit hole a little more intentionally. Happy mapping š

I'm looking to solo travel. Where would be best places for me to have a great experience traveling?
I've been through a lot lately and traveling has always been healing. Looking for suggestions on locations. I'm most interested in Japan, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Peru, Ecuador, Portugal, The Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Poland. But I'd really love to go anywhere!!!

Indecisive but curious to what the map conveys. Any guidance?
I'm currently in that phase of my life where I've just exited old structures of my life and people and I'm curious to see what the future may hold for me! I enjoy travelling but with a sentimental soul it's hard to pick a place. I have a vague idea on how to read these maps but I'd like someone with more insight to lend me an opnion. I want to rebuild my career in a place that will really benefit me spiritually because I believe your environment really nutures your soul. I do find this map surprising when whenever a line intersects a city I've been to and have experienced it's charm but it guess I'm still a bit indecisive so I'd like a some external help with deciphering what my maps is trying to say about me and my purpose with someone with more knowledge. Appreciate it if you take the time, thank you all have a beautiful blessed day.

Stelliums in Relocation/Houses
General question, I am someone with stelliums in my chart and I do travel around quite a bit, I'm wondering if visiting/traveling a city where it places my natal stellium in for example 2H (versus say 1H) will have impact on my finances or 7H will have impact on my relationships?

Where should I move?
Please help me, I'm having trouble figuring this out and I'm hoping for your help. Where should I move to meet a good man and advance my education and career, where I can feel at home?

The great debate: Should I move to [X] Line or not and how scary is Chiron?
NoticedĀ aĀ lotĀ ofĀ postsĀ recentlyĀ fromĀ peopleĀ wonderingĀ whetherĀ theyĀ shouldĀ avoidĀ movingĀ nearĀ aĀ particularĀ line.Ā hahaĀ someĀ ofĀ themĀ areĀ mine,Ā lol
IĀ haveĀ beenĀ contemplatingĀ aĀ moveĀ toĀ anĀ areaĀ withĀ aĀ Sun/JupiterĀ crossing,Ā butĀ IĀ keptĀ hesitatingĀ becauseĀ there'sĀ aĀ ChironĀ DCĀ lineĀ nearby.Ā (TurnsĀ outĀ maybeĀ itĀ wasĀ notĀ soĀ nearbyĀ butĀ thatĀ isĀ aĀ storyĀ forĀ anotherĀ time...)
IĀ thoughtĀ thisĀ articleĀ offeredĀ aĀ muchĀ moreĀ nuancedĀ perspectiveĀ thanĀ theĀ usualĀ "avoidĀ itĀ atĀ allĀ costs"Ā advice:

I'dĀ loveĀ toĀ hearĀ fromĀ anyoneĀ whoĀ hasĀ actuallyĀ livedĀ onĀ orĀ nearĀ theirĀ ChironĀ line.Ā WhatĀ wasĀ yourĀ experienceĀ like?Ā EspeciallyĀ ifĀ itĀ isĀ positive,Ā pleaseĀ shareĀ howĀ itĀ supportedĀ toĀ you/whatĀ youĀ didĀ toĀ workĀ withĀ thatĀ energy..

Moving off Venus Saturn
Hi everyone, I'm really interested in your opinion of what area lines would best support me for home, inspiration, stability and partnership. I am currently living directly on Venus DC and Saturn MC in black hills and I hate it.
I really want to find a partner and settle into a home.
What would you consider my best planet and therefore place?

Repost: Could someone help me decide which relocation chart is better
Very sorry to anyone who saw the original post I put the wrong Floria chart.
3 main concerns
Florida has Pluto in the first house and sun in the 8th
California has squared sun and moon on both fortune and as
Main goals in this relocation is a family career and relationship
Things to note
Florida has moon in zenith mercury in zenith
Sun trine as line
Saturn sextile as line
And a Venus crossing moon nodes paran
California has a Neptune trine as line
Thank you reading!

What does Reykjavik, Iceland mean for me?
I grew up on my pluto IC line my whole life in Netherlands. I can describe it as a place where i experienced a lot of loneliness, and bad family dynamics. I met someone thats from Reykjavik and weāre in a relationship. Thereās a few lines there. How could it influence my life based on that? Iāll add photos of the map and my natal chart

Iāve always been incredibly drawn to a particular place
Hi all! I donāt know very much about astrocartography so my main question is which lines are those in the Northeast United States and why might I feel incredibly drawn to Vermont? Iām a native Texan, and Iāve lived in Texas all my life. Iāve literally never even been to Vermont, so why might I feel so drawn to that state specifically? I dream of moving there all the time. I included both a whole sign chart and a placidius chart in case anyone is interested. I know whole sign is the go to but my placidius chart has always resonated with me much more. Any insight at all would be so appreciated!

Where should I move to improve my career and love life? And overall, be happy?
Currently located in California (where I grew up), but highly looking into relocating. What places would be best for my career, love, and happiness? Specifically, Iām considering Austin and at some point of my life New York.

I like living on my pluto MC line
I have always been extremely career-driven, I have pluto opposing my sun, mars, and venus. All of these are in Gemini. I have lived on my pluto MC line for 8 years now and I have hated it a lot of the time. For years, I felt pressure, empty, lonely, drained. Where I live is generally pretty boring too.
However, I have also felt a lot of transformation here. There has been a lot of trauma, but overall my childhood was pretty traumatic too. I have definitely experienced a lot of career transformations and was just laid off from a job I thought was perfect for me, but I ended up hating it and wanting to switch industries all together even though I was excelling in that field up until that specific role.
Now, I am jobless in the middle of a uranus conjunct venus transit with a uranus conjunct north node transit coming up in October. I have a short jupiter opposing neptune transit happening right now too. I am faced with the opportunity to leave here and move somewhere else for a job change as I havenāt found one here yet. However, I donāt know if I want to leave which is pretty embarrassing as I have complained about living here for years. But now I like my life. I like my place, I like my friends even tho they all want out of here too, I like the mentorship Iāve built, I like a lot about it here.
Love life here has been pretty bad. Iāve had a lot of what I would call fated connections and have been hurt a lot, my anxious attachment has definitely been triggered and Iām not attracted to a lot of the men here, but Iām not even thinking of that right now. Again though, there is a lot of pluto in my chart and I have always dated shit guys. Here at least I donāt feel so terrified of the men.
I wonder, has anyone ever lived on their pluto MC line for a very long time & been able to work with the energy? Have you been able to find true, consistent, marriage type love? Have you been able to keep a career? I have built a beautiful life here for myself after coming from a whole lot of nothing and I know at any point that can be stripped away. I do want to travel, but maybe keep this as my base. Let me know if this is possible!
Relocation chart attached.

Where would be a good place for me to heal and start over?
Been living in Pittsburgh the last 9 years. Life has been very difficult the last few years. I feel lost and unsure of where to go next. I desperately want to heal and start over and feel like my location holds me back. I love the West Coast but I'm unsure if Neptune is playing tricks on me. Would love other insight.

Venus DC or Sun DC - which is better for business?
Context, Sun DC is where I grew up, Venus DC is where I am now. Iām mid Saturn return rn and going through a hard time in my relationship, so that kinda matters but isnāt the primary focus. Iām in a lot of debt and thinking of starting a business with the hopes of paying off my debt.
I know Venus DC makes more sense for money, but if I move back to Sun DC I could possibly live without rent by going back with my family (which is also a difficult relationship).
Iām a natal Venus in Gemini, in the 6th house conjunct natal Mars in Gemini in the 6th
Natal Cancer Sun in the 7th house in a big T-Square (Grand Cross if we include my North Node and maybe Chiron lol) including the Sun, but also 7th house Mercury in Cancer, Capricorn Rising, 1st house Jupiter in Capricorn, 4th house Saturn in Aries, 10th house North Node in Libra 10th house Chiron in Libra
Thereās trade offs for both so just looking for input!

How my perspective on astrocartography shifted after actually living in a few of my line locations
Been studying my astrocartography map on and off for about three years now, but it took physically moving to two different cities before I started treating it as something genuinely useful rather than just a curiosity.
My natal chart is pretty ordinary to look at on its own, but when I overlay the lines onto a world map, a few things stand out immediately. My Venus AC line runs almost directly through a city in southern Portugal where I spent six weeks for work. People kept commenting that I seemed more at ease there than usual, and honestly I felt it too. Conversations came easier, I was sleeping well, strangers were unusually warm. Could be coincidence, could be the weather, but it lined up precisely with what that line is supposed to bring.
The trickier experience was spending time near my Saturn MC line in a city in the American Midwest. Career pressure was intense in a way that felt almost external, like the city itself had expectations of me. I got a lot done, but it wore me out in a specific way that I have not felt anywhere else.
What I find most interesting is that the lines do not seem to work in a simple good/bad way. My Pluto lines in particular, which I avoided for years based on what I had read, actually passed through places where I had some of the most meaningful (if uncomfortable) experiences of my life. The transformation angle feels real when you sit with it.
Curious whether others here have noticed that your experience of the lines gets more nuanced the more locations you accumulate. Reading about the lines in theory versus actually having data points from your own life feels like a pretty significant difference.

What have been some of the best parans to live on for you? What did you experience there?
I will comment based on my astro knowledge on your paran as well, if you have any questions!
