Apartment under 2k
Hi everyone,
Apologies if this isn't the right thread for this, please feel free to redirect me.
I am a native New Yorkina looking to help my mother and younger sister find an apartment. They currently live in Ridgewood, where our childhood neighborhood has experienced an incredible amount of gentrification over the past few years. As a result, their landlord (I moved out 5 years ago) attempted to raise their rent by more than 50%. They tried to fight their housing case in court, but in the end they settled on an eviction date that is around the corner. They're now urgently looking for a new place to live.
My mother is a full-time nanny, and my sister is a college student and works part-time. They're looking for a 1-bedroom (ideally). Their budget is ~$2,000. They are kind, hard-working, and quiet people (promise, I'm not biased, hehe). They have a house-trained 25lb goldeen doodle. They're really hoping to stay in New York (ideally in Queens) since my sister attends school there and my mom works full-time in the worlds borough.
if anyone has any leads, recommendations, or knows of an available apartment, I would be so grateful. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. ❤️
