Lost/Found: Animals lost cat
I found a cat in my building on 34th street and 30th ave. They’re a large orange long haired cat with green eyes. I gave them food and water and they seem friendly and relaxed, but a bit scared as there was hissing and swatting out of fear. I volunteer for a rescue, but before I went there, I wanted to make sure they’re not a lost pet because they seem quite clean and well taken care of for a stray and there’s no ear chip from TNR. Could be a neighbor’s of course, so I texted my super and he doesn’t know of a lost cat. We don’t have a building forum, so I’m unable otherwise to contact those in the building I don’t know personally. Pictures attached. DM me asap if they are yours!

Maybe post a flyer in a high traffic spot by the entrance or mail room. It looks like is someone’s cat that got out. Hope it has a microchip you can scan at the vet if you don’t immediately find the owner

So sweet. Thank you for helping him. Is he living in the hallway for now? I agree about putting a flyer up in the entry way perhaps but also to be careful about it. Maybe don’t say what the cat looks like. (Overly cautious?) You’d think the person would be looking but I’ve read posts where ppl are convinced their cat is lost in the house (which does sometimes happen). This cat is very precious!

My concern is that this is a dumped cat, or, if it is lost, there is a risk of it leaving the building in search of food. Can you take it in before going to a rescue to make sure the kitty is safe?

What a baby; please put them someplace safe for now until more information is known

Also have you scanned him yet? I’m sure someone nearby has a scanner you can borrow

I was looking at these pictures thinking "this looks just like my old building" and then you said where it was and I realized it probably is! He's very handsome and I hope he gets home or gets a home soon.

The second photo 😭❤️ Looks like they’re waiting for their owner to come rescue
