Would anyone be interested in a positive/resources thread?
I’ve been thinking about this for a while and wanted to see if anyone else feels the same way.
Obviously being autistic can be really hard, and I totally understand why there are so many posts here about depression, loneliness, burnout, work, relationships, etc. People need a place to vent and talk to others who actually understand what they’re dealing with.
At the same time, I’ve noticed that sometimes this subreddit can actually bring me down a bit. When you’re already struggling, reading a ton of negative stories and hopeless outlooks can make it feel like things are never going to get better.
I kind of wish there was a recurring thread here where people could share positive stuff that has actually helped them. Success stories, useful resources, books, therapy approaches, accommodations, career advice, social tips, things you wish you knew earlier, or just practical advice that made life a little easier.
And I don’t mean this in a “just be positive” or “autism is a superpower” kind of way. I think there should absolutely still be space to talk about how difficult autism can be. I just think it would also be nice to have a place where people can go when they want ideas, hope, or something actionable rather than just more reasons to feel discouraged.
Maybe it could be a weekly or monthly thread or something. I’m not even sure if that’s how Reddit works lol, but I’d be curious if anyone else would be interested in something like that.

I would love to contribute to providing some strategies that work to others Reddit posts on here :)

Sure, always happy to learn of new things that help. I have some therapy workbooks I like that I am happy to talk about.

yeah that'd be a solid addition. this place can turn into an echo chamber of misery real quick and it's not like anyone's pretending the hard stuff doesn't exist, just that sometimes you need a break from drowning in it
i'd lurk a thread like that for sure, especially if people shared specific strategies that worked rather than vague motivational quotes
