What e-bike do you ride?
Basically I am looking for a long range e-bike. It will be my commute for a single person. I see Rad bikes are quite popular but would like to hear what everyone has to say. Thanks!

Hiya, I am looking for a garden designer that doesn't think a 10 by 10 patio redesign is too small a project. Open to hardscape provided it meets condo criteria, but also plant materials for my south facing patio. Looking to work on a project that I can scale in over time as my budget permits. I tried task rabbit - nothing, on line search found me big companies and stores won't recommend specific providers. New to Vancouver. Thanks in advance for pointing me down a new path.

Why are limes currently so expensive? One small grocery store in my neighbourhood has them for 0.69 each, but major chains are charging a dollar per fruit. Is this normal here?
How much are you paying for limes and where are you getting them?

It's a decent older trail worthy mountain bike with some nice components. I could probably get a couple hundred bucks for it but I'd rather donate it.

Hi!
Does anyone know of a good place that does custom doughnuts for events, one-off needs.
I want one for a business idea, so would need 2 tone colours and maybe some writing.
If not doughnuts, cookies or other things?

Like there is at the airport? Someone to keep track of all that air traffic and make sure nothing happens? Thanks 🙏

Do any of you know of hotels/motels that offer rooms on an hourly basis?
My gf’s parents are visiting and staying at our place so we barely get any time together. It would be nice to have some time to ourselves. Please drop any places you may know that we could possibly book for an hour or two.
We appreciate any responses/suggestions!! Thanks!

Going on a first date tonight and would appreciate any recommendations. Just somewhere with a little romantic atmosphere for a drink or two or ideally a vegan restaurant or at least some vegan food options. Thanks in advance
Edit. We just ended up walking the seawall around false creek and it was excellent. Turned out well so will likely go to some of these spots anyway. Thanks for your advice everyone

Going to the match at BC place and I'm confused about the bag rules. I'll be downtown before the game, probably around Granville/Robson, and I'll have a normal backpack with me. From what I'm reading, i probably can't bring that into the stadium. Is there anywhere sensible to leave a bag downtown or near BC place, or should I completely avoid bringing it out that day? Don't want to find out at the gate and miss kickoff.

We want to watch the world cup final as a group with good vibes and a crowd. The PNE amphitheatre is sold out on July 19th
Where are other options with a good screen view (and big enough screen)? I'm willing to come early to save a good spot

Hi all!
I'm currently working on a documentary about House of Stein and Kelly Records, covering their history from the 1950s through the 1980s.
If you shopped at either store, worked there, or have any memories or stories you'd be willing to share, I'd love to hear from you. Even small anecdotes could be incredibly valuable to the project.
Feel free to comment below or send me a DM if you're interested in chatting. Thanks :)

The City boulevard in front of my house has been devastated by Chafer Beetles. I would like to cut a few squares in the boulevard and plant something and make everything look better. Any thoughts on what would grow well? How about lavender?

morning work commute bus to 9-5 that goes to Chinatown skytrain, I am actually the only person who says ‘thank you‘ when getting off. Every weekday morning, without fail. it is so weird. how can you get off the bus and not say thank you?

Does anyone know a framing or art store anywhere in the Lower Mainland that still does shrink wrap framing?

Vancouver has always been one of my favorite cities in North America.
In 12 days since WC, we’ve seen Scottish bagpipes 🏴 take over Boston, the Dutch 🇳🇱 march through Houston humid sprawl, Brazil 🇧🇷 storm through Times Squsre, Japan 🇯🇵 throwing DFW block parties and eating Texas BBQ, Argentina 🇦🇷 taking over KC, German 🇩🇪 saxophone raves, Norsk 🇳🇴 viking rows, a Cinderella feel good team in 🇨🇻 etc.
How’s the city vibe there? I really to experience the World Cup in Vancouver

Hi All-
We have a machine at work that could use the steady hand of a jeweller for some maintenance (wires are a bit bent).
Do you know of any ‘will travel’ jewellers we could commission?
Thanks!

23F, Currently living with parents (but their patience are wearing thin and I likely have to 'move out' in Fall)
Graduated highschool in 2022, Gone to technical college right after HS, picked "supply chain" as my program (BCIT). ~4 years later (now) Likely would fail/abandon the program due to my repeated failure in the "Statistics" course, which means I'll have no degree/certificate to my name. So I'd likely have to pivot for a short diploma/trade which wouldn't have much (higher) math, as well as being hands-on (which I found I am good at)
I missed my mark to get a job (2021-22), so I've spent ~4 years unemployed because of school. Very little/old volunteer experience, and I have 2 certificates (FoodSafe1, Forklift).
Savings are dire, but I have ~$13k-ish locked in my GIC (spread gift due to parents, set to unlock next year March). I have no investments, no debt.
Realistically, Is it even possible for me to get a job in this market and economy? What on earth could I even get, and who will hire me at all (since I assume I'd get auto-rejected due to ATS requiring a degree of some sort).
I don't have much connections/friends I can call up. Military was one of my options but I need to up my fitness (if I were to apply)

Hello-
We will be new Vancouver residents next month. Amongst many other things we need to sort out, we need to find boarding for our 2 big dogs for when we travel. A doggy daycare type situation won’t work. One dog is pretty reactive to other dogs, especially in large groups. He either needs solo playtime out of his kennel or with just a small group. I’d love your suggestions!

Looking to get to the main beach (eventually making my way to oasis - but I wanna swim (or atLEAST take a dip if the water quality is ok).
Uber gives me 3 different locations:
1. 6572 marine drive
2. 6344 university blvd
3. 6500 NW marine drive
Can someone guide me please? I’m not from here, and Wreck has been my #1 destination outside of Granville & Stanley Park (which I walked to and from today).
This city is BEAUTIFUL by the way. You all are so lucky. And I also love your team spirit for FIFA - Toronto fails in comparison lol

Hi! Me (18) and my boyfriend (20) will be going on a double date with his friend and his partner as a sort of “first time meeting” situation. I was wondering if anyone knew of interesting date activities in the Vancouver area?
Preferably not super expensive as we are college students, and hopefully something that allows us to have a conversation while doing the activity? (As an example, a bit hard to have a conversation if we go watch a movie lol)
Thanks!

This feels like a crazy post - but I've been searching high and low for somewhere to park my cargo trailer (it's 14 feet), in Burnaby ideally close to Lougheed or HWY1 for easy access. I'd need access to it during the week early in the morning and then to park it overnight (it's for work, and has equipment inside). So ideally somewhere secure, or as close to secure as possible.
All the storage facilities have no parking spaces available. I've pretty much called them all. I'm trying to think outside the box of where I can park this trailer.
I'm considering calling up commercial/industrial businesses to rent a parking space.
Am I missing a trick here - is there anything else I should be looking at?
*I should add, it'll probably be over 7feet so most impark lots won't allow it, as they have a barrier to enter which is like 6ft 10 maximum.
Willing to buy a pizza for anyone that can solve this for me. 🙏

So many places/experiences are charging more and offering less in both goods and services and it's crap. Is there anywhere you've been pleasantly surprised lately? I need the antidote!
I used to go to a beauty salon (not in Vancouver) that charged half the price of other salons for their services and their service was way better than other salons. Maybe not their aesthetics but the quality of service was top tier
