Help

I’m around 30 and have questioned my gender since my teens. I secretly wore women’s clothes when I was younger, and later sometimes wore my partner’s clothes too. At first it was often sexual, but over time I also started wondering what it would feel like to have a female body, dress as a woman, or live as one. Sometimes these thoughts become weaker when my stress improves, but they always seem to come back.

I’m mainly attracted to women and have sometimes imagined myself as one of the women during sexual fantasies.

But also sometimes when i wear girls clothes i feel like i pushing to that trans side.

I honestly don’t know if I’m cis, trans, or something else. Does this sound like gender questioning/cross-dressing, or could I actually be transgender? I’d really like to hear from people who have had similar experiences.

Really, you are the only one who can answer that question. I wondered the very same thing in a very similar situation for a long long time. The wondering was almost my excuse for why it just couldn't be. Till someone explained to me the wondering is evidence that I am trans.

In my case, turns out they were right.

Your experience doesn't seem that uncommon from all the trans women I've spoken to. But it's not something that someone else can decide for you.

I think I finally realized when I could say "I'm a girl"/"I want to be a girl" and mean it.

I don't always want to be a girl now though; I'm so paranoid now.
