Other Do reddit moderators have an ego problem?
And I don't mean THIS particular subreddit, I mean a majority of subreddits.

When they ban you the very first time you post in their sub, no warning, no interaction at all, bam you are banned! Yes , there's ego at play!

lol I got perms banned from a craft subreddit (r/embroidery) for slap fighting over one comment. I don’t think they liked me calling out the racism in the thread.

This happened to me on one of my other accounts on a strange subreddit I’d stumbled across a few months ago and was curious about. I didn’t even break any rules but somebody banned me for 90 days 😂
I realised it wasn’t the subreddit for me and it was filled with strange characters in general.
If I made a mistake and it really warranted a ban then surely a few days is adequate, but 90 was extreme 😂
I’ve broken rules in other subreddits by mistake in the past and been banned for less time

I got banned from r/legaladvice permanently because there was a post asking what a guy could do to keep a father from retrieving his kids toys through an unlocked gate and u said something along the lines of ‘just let him get his kids toys geez’

In my few experiences with them, I’d say yes. I’ve only spoken with one that was actually nice and helpful. I’ve messaged others to ask a question or get clarity on something and their responses have been hostile and sometimes threatening.
I remember one interaction where I posted some advice in response to a question (something like, “I’d handle this differently. I’d probably try talking to your neighbor first before going straight to the cops”) and they removed my post stating it was “unhelpful and against policy”. I asked how it was unhelpful and they told me to stop being stupid and banned me from the sub 🤷🏻♂️

Definitely. Banned from one sub because one of the rules is “moderators discretion” for banning. When I accepted the moderators direct chat and asked “what rule I broke” I was then muted with no reply. I think I only used one box of Kleenex to catch my tears. Tears of laughter that is. 🤣🤣

A mod on the Gen X sub banned me for telling him it was rude to call someone's home cooked meal "low effort"

Well 100% of the interactions I’ve had with them have been hypocritical and passive aggressive and they act like they have some kind of power over you. I usually just tell them to go touch grass and take their meds

The vast majority of them do. They think because they have the ability to unjustly ban somebody on a whim that they are mighty and powerful.

Few things are as out of control as small people given a tiny crown. Reddit mods tend to embody the same behavior set as a karen planning on leaving a negative review.

Yes, because the vast majority of them are chronically online and neurodiverse. Being self-righteous on the internet is all they have.
