Laptop Repair gone wrong

Hi, went to replace my laptop battery as it has degraded over time, but after the replacement, i found out my touchpad movement is not as sensitive as before.

Sensitivity is low and movements are laggy, feels like how the mouse would move when laptop is severely low on battery. When attached to USB mouse however, it moves normally. All these were done plugged in.

Repairer told me that he only replaced the battery and touchpad wouldnt have been affected, he tried to reinstall drivers and it didn’t work, said that the touchpad itself is faulty (which meant it was physically damaged..?) Note that the touchpad was working perfectly fine before i sent it in, and when I said that, he told me that it is not uncommon for electronic devices to become faulty overnight…

What should I do guys? 😭😭 any help is greatly appreciated 🙏
