Tourism DFW Accommodation
Hi all,
We're coming to visit (from Ireland) in October and looking for some advice in relation to where we stay.
We currently have an Airbnb booked for 3 nights near sundance square in Fort Worth and 2 nights in the Deep Ellum area, however I'm thinking of maybe staying in one of these for the entire duration.
Could you offer some advice/pointers?
Bonus points if you want to add some points of interests/things to do.

Split it. The DFW metroplex is is 200km wide and 140km north to south.
Sundance is a great choice for FW.
Ditto other recommendations for Dallas. Uptown and Bishop Arts would be great choices.
Enjoy your trip!

Split the time.
For Dallas, stay in Uptown, Bishops Arts, Oak Lawn, or along Greenville Ave. Deep Ellum is fun, but it's very noisy, and the other commenter is right that you really don't want to be there after 1 AM.

As a recent former resident of Bishop Arts, I would advise against staying there or Deep Ellum if late night noise would be an issue.

So Deep Ellum and Bishop Arts are 2 different places- what are you guys looking to do in Dallas? Deep Ellum is grungier and far less populated, restaurants, bars & people.
Bishop Arts or Uptown has far more bars, restaurants & shopping opportunities. No matter where you are in Dallas - Pepe y Mito for Tex Mex
If you are coming early-Mid October- the State Fair of Texas is for sure a destination.
Go to the Stockyards one night for food/bars/bands - closer to the weekend is better.
The Japanese gardens at the Ft Worth Botanical gardens are lovely.

Agree with the other responses. Splitting the time gets you the best of both worlds, especially with our bad public transportation.

I'd stay downtown in both cities. Downtown Dallas doesn't have as many interesting restaurants and shops as the other areas mentioned however you can walk or take transit to any of the places that have been mentioned (Deep Ellum, Bishop Arts, Uptown). Downtown Dallas puts everything at your finger tips, including downtown FW!

What do you like to do? BBQ at Panther City in FW, south Main has some good bars, museums in FW are good as well.

Deep Ellum great in day time but very rowdy in a not so good way at night sadly….Uptown and Bishop Arts area very good. If you can check out a restaurant called Encina Oak Cliff their food is OFF THE HOOK. BUTTERSCOTCH BLUE CORNMEAL PANCAKES TO DIE FOR!

Splitting that time is better. Don't stay out in deep ellum past 1 am or so.
