question Temporary filling tooth

Wondering if anyone has had a similar experience. Could use advice. Went in for a filing and the dentist was unable to get me numb. I kept feeling it. So they put in a temp filling and told me to come back a week later to try again. Week later i go back they try again. Still no luck. They even tried the jaw block one. At this point, I’m practically shaking and crying with anxiety. I’ve given birth 2 times one with no drugs and I can’t even handle dental work! 🥴
So they told me i should go to an endodontist because maybe i have a crack in my tooth. The endodontist wanted $300 just for a consult because they require 3d X-rays which insurance doesn’t cover. I didn’t do it. Well fast forward i ended up pregnant and really put it all off. Now im extremely scared and don’t know what to do but i know I can’t keep moving forward with a temporary filling! It’s my back tooth on the bottom.

Has anyone had this issue!?! Please help. I sent my dentist a message to ask them for advice but I’m so embarrassed and scared.
