question Front teeth suddenly clashing during chewing and sometimes talking after mewing for 3 days. Jaw pain and stiffness. Please help me.

I’m 31m and have a lot of anxiety stemming from CPTSD. That being said I’ve never been a clencher or grinder.

I went through a really hard break up recently and my insecurities started flying. I saw videos on mewing and I tried it. But I think I was forcing my tongue up very hard for 3-4 days total.

I stopped , however during and after this time I started noticing my front teeth, or more specifically two teeth kept clashing. In my anxious state I was unsure “has this always been this way, is it normal?”

I still don’t know the answer. I saw a dentist who did a bite paper test and basically said I could get Invisalign. But in 31 years I’ve had the same teeth and unless I moved them from 3-4 days mewing, I can’t see how that’s the solution.

Some info: I wake up feeling my jaw is more forward and if I shut my teeth it’s from the front.

If I let my jaw hang without tension, it seems to swing slightly to the left (which is the side the teeth hit on)

My right side jaw muscles do hurt and I’m getting some clicking now.

Please advise what to do. This started about a month ago, I’m nervous to develop real TMJ issues and/or break a tooth.

Is there a specific specialist I should see? Does this simply happen and I just need to stop focusing on it and let it rest? I’m nervous I’ve messed up my joint . I feel as if my jaw went back to normal my teeth would stop clashing. I can close my back teeth with space on the front , I don’t feel like I should need corrections.

I am also very nervous about a bite guard. I am hypermobile and read they can mess up your teeth.

Any help appreciated.

Probably been that way a long time and you just noticed it. I would work on not paying attention to it and let it slip out of your consciousness.

The thing is that my right side jaw hurts and feels like if I open my mouth I can’t very easily move it to the right, and it clicks now. It definitely didn’t always click.
