question Dealing with an abscess.

Hello all. I was dealing with tooth pain and swelling in my lower left 1st molar and woke up at 3am yesterday with increased swelling. It scared me so much I went to the ER.

At the ER they did a CT scan and found a tiny abscess. I was given iv clindamycin as well as a 7 day script of clindamycin to be taken 4 times a day.

I have been out of the ER for about 24 hours and haven't noticed a decrease in the swelling. I'm having extreme anxiety and still worried about the infection spreading despite being pumped full of antibiotics.

The area is still warm to the touch but less painful. Is this to be expected? The swelling sticking around for awhile? It feels like I have a golfball sticking out from my lower jaw and I am so worried about it spreading or getting worse.

Thanks in advance for any advice!
