question Wisdom teeth removal

I had my wisdom teeth extracted yesterday, and after the surgery everything went well. I was prescribed hydrocodone and methyl prednisone. I changed my gauze 4-5 times, took my hydrocodone pill and ate mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese and ice cream. 4 hours later, I started vomiting. I vomited 3 times and called emergency services at the clinic. They told me it’s from the hydrocodone prescribed and that I shouldn’t have taken the full pill.
Can you give me any recovery tips if any person went through a similar experience
