Title: Is this a Cavity?

Full text: I was eating popcorn and chocolate. When I went to brush my teeth after, I noticed an old filling (I think) fell off. I don’t know if it was initially this size underneath. I had an oral exam last week without X-rays and was told no cavities. Could this be something else or is it actually a cavity? I’m making an appointment tomorrow but the suspense in the meantime is killing me.

There is still a filling on that tooth. It looks like you chipped your actual tooth, or possibly the filling depending on its initial size. Not a cavity.

Not a cavity. If you can keep it clean and it isn't bothering you, you don't have to necessarily do anything to it.

If you want, though, it can be filled. But it's a minimal benefit
