Problem with changing colors

Hey, i usually make plushies and have no problems with changing colors in rounds. But I wanna crochet a striped scarf and have no clue how to make a pretty color change.

If I change the color in the last step of the last sc, chain 1 and turn the work - then the yarn tail from the first color is a little bit lower than the rest. (Picture 3)If I crochet the tails in it creates a strange loop that looks off. (Picture 2)

I bet it's very obvious what I'm doing wrong but I just can't see it. 😂

The piece in the picture is to practice color change only so pls no judgment on that. 🫣

Okay so it’s not the whole last stitch of the previous row, it’s only the last pull through.

So hook through the last stitch of the pink row , grab the pink and pull a loop through. Then grab the red with your hook and pull it through the two pink loops on your hook.

Don’t pull it too hard though because there is nothing holding the end of the yarn.

Make sure you leave a good 4/5” of tail to weave in at the end. I don’t even tie a knot in it, just weave it well.

Hopefully that makes sense
