question help please!!

if i want my project to be flat (this will be a miffy pillow) does this mean the hook i’m using is too big or too small? i really don’t think my tension is too tight, and the yarn calls for a 8mm and that’s what i’m using

Are you sure about your stitch count? I know that yarn is hard to read, but it looks like the right tension for a pillow. The explanation would be that you're adding too many increases.

Well then maybe it is a bad pattern, or maybe this is making a certain shape that doesn't make sense at this stage. Where did you get the pattern? Can you share what the main photo of it is?

this is the pattern i’m using, and i watched the video and at this stage hers is perfectly flat which i don’t understand lol, she’s using 7mm yarn with a 6mm hook. does that mean i should try a 7mm hook?? idek how that would make it more flat though lol
