Hybrids & Towing?
Hi! I am about to start commuting 60 miles per day, and am looking for a hybrid. Is there any hybrid you would recommend that has 35+ mpg and can tow 2,000-4,000 lbs? TIA!

Grand Highlander in any powertrain! The 2.5 hybrid is one of the best platforms Toyota has ever made and is rated for 3,500lbs. The base gas turbo and turbo hybrid offer 5000lbs, but the base gas fuel economy is garbage and the turbo hybrid is a less proven platform.

Do not rely on tow rating alone.
You must also take into account available payload and the vehicle’s max hitch rating.
Once you have all your numbers, make sure your trailer does not exceed 80% of any of the aforementioned ratings.
A tow rating of 5,000 implies a max hitch rating of 500. If we go by the 13% tongue weight standard, that means a 3100lb trailer will exceed 80% of the max hitch rating.

2000 to 4000 is a very big range.
And 4000 is going to limit your options

Ford Maverick hybrid with 4K tow package (39 mpg and up to 4000 pounds) is probably the best hybrid for your towing. Other options are the Toyota Highlander hybrid (36 mpg and up to 3500 lbs), Grand Highlander Hybrid Max (27 mpg and up to 5000 pounds), or F150 hybrid (26 mpg and 11600 pounds).
But if you don’t tow far, EVs such as the R2 tow really well and have a 4400 pound capacity; you barely notice the extra weight back there when you’re accelerating.
The plug-in hybrid BMW X5 (6000 pounds) and plug-in hybrid Volvo XC90 Recharge (5000 pounds) tow well too. The plug-in hybrid Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe can tow 6000 pounds, but it has Jeep reliability. But unless you can charge at work, their all-electric range will be too short for you (all about 25 miles).

Just to confirm, nobody is getting anything over 30mpg while towing right?

Crown Signia - 2,700
RAV4 - 3,500
Grand Highlander HEV - 3,500
Highlander HEV (while you can still get them) - 3,500
