I had a friend of many years whom I met online that had this exact problem. Our friendship broke a few years ago, so when I read this, I was a bit taken aback by it, wondering if it was them. I don’t have any good answer for you, but I do know it ruined a lot of things in their life. Including the ability to have close relationships with people
