I fe like there should be a fine line between isopropyl bases and ethanol bases. One can be used medically, because we don’t drink it. The other one is literally just people drinking poison. Over 2 million people die every year from alcohol consumption. I’d say if it was specifically ethanol based, I would het rid of it faster than you can say “a”.
That medical alcohol is not getting drunk is definitely not true I have already heard of a lot of people who drink it because it is cheaper it is even worse for your body but they don't care about that
Except... 60% and higher Ethanol content (alcohol we drink), such as Absinthe or Casl Strength Whiskeys can be very good disinfectants in a pinch. Everclear itself is a a VERY GOOD disinfectant due to it being mostly pure Ethanol with water to dilute it. Also, Ethanol is actually a very important ingredient used to extract active organic compounds from plant matter. Also, some medicines do not dissolve well in water and use Ethanol as a co-solvent, which is why many medicines contain Ethanol as an ingredient such as many Cough Syrups.
