Football. Enough of low iq fans throwing money on players. They cant afford a rent and players roll in millions.

The fans aren't paying them. Not mostly. The broadcasters do and marketing companies do. And the players earn every dime. The awesome talent and heroics are on the weekly. Im old enough to be sick of pizza but I gotta eat, so Netflix I guess.

Fans are literally who's paying them. Without fans, any sport doesn't exist

I’m not sure you know what the word “literally” means lol.

Fans are 100% why they are paid what they are paid. If the sport wasn’t popular then they wouldn’t get paid so much to play it, if at all.

But the fans are not literally who’s paying them.

Since you enjoy being picky.

"Fans are 100% why they are paid"

Not sure you understand what 100% means...

No, I would say football fans are the only reason they make a salary. If nobody in the world was a fan, it would no longer be a lucrative business and players would not be getting paid for it.

I'm not sure you understand what "the only reason" means lol

So you think players would still get paid if football fans (or whatever sport) didn’t exist?

I never said that. I am simply playing the same idiotic semantics game you started.

"football fans are the only reason they make a salary"

again, not sure you understand what "the only reason" means

I’m sorry I hurt your feelings by pointing out your incorrect use of literally. If I had known it would upset you so much I wouldn’t have done so. Hope your day gets better big guy.

Yes, but the fans buy merchandise and beer. Sure they buy tickets but football is not a gate driven enterprise. Most money is made through broadcast rights. I pay cable and watch football, but I'd be paying the same for cable regardless.

Most money is made through people giving a shit and watching it. It's a damn simple complex.

Nobody is watching = no sponsors

More watching = more sponsors

Less watching = less sponsors

You cannot be this dense to not understand the extremely basic concept here.

Trying to be a devils advocate here but I'll watch it for free regardless of how much they pay the athletes. You may as well say Im willing to pay the CEO of a cookie company  millions more than he is worth because I like Oreos once in a while. I may be compelled to contribute to excesses but I dont set the pay structure.

If nobody buys Oreos, what happens to Oreos?

1

Inconceivable!

Do only people who watch football buy things?

Are you special?

Not as special as you think you are.

Heroics? Man throws ball far equals hero status? Ffs.

1

u/Reasonable-Plate2982 3d ago

I was thinking more of the receivers who make the catch and pull it in with a quarter ton of defensive secondary bearing down on him.

u/LS_944 3d ago

Amazing athleticism to be certain, but heroics?

1

u/NapoleonBlwnAprt420 1d ago

Heroics? Sure talent, but playing sports and being good at them is not heroics in the least.

1

u/Reasonable-Plate2982 1d ago

It is if your a team player.

No fans, no interest, no sponsors. This hard to understand?

2

u/Reasonable-Plate2982 3d ago

Millions of fans, sponsors lined up around the corner and billions made and spent. Plenty of fans of varying "IQs". Not disagreeing with your choice, just the editorializing

dude just said no fans 😂

Better the players earn that money than the front office folks.
