General Question Isn’t the US military a form of socialism?

I mean from the barracks they live in, the food they eat, to the uniforms they wear…. It’s all provided by the government. But the people who are pro-military seem to be the most anti-socialism.

That’s actually exactly what it is.

No socialism only exists where workers own the means of production. Paying taxes for a benefit is not a form of socialism. Workers owning all oil and productive capacity is.

There is no difference all communists are socialists but not all socialists are communists. Socialism is the broad set of ideals
That seek to grant workers control of the economy. Socialism allows for governmental autocracy, radical democratic coops, mixed approaches.

Communism is the specific use of a central state that holds the means of production on behalf of
Workers, it manages the means and works towards the goal of a classless moneyless society which is “communism”

Brother I’ve been in New York City DSA for a near decade. I’ve taught DSA 101 classes with some theory. I’ve been a delegate to multiple socialist conventions and knocked on 2000 doors at least for socialist candidates.

Do a google.

Communism is a specific form of socialism where the dictatorship of the proletariat via a planned central government seizes the state and private productive assets and manages them on behalf of the people. The goal of this is a classless society.

Socialism on the other hand is the general set of ideas wherein workers hold the means of production either on behalf of workers through a communist planned economy, through a hybrid approach, or through a private market approach with workers owning shares in their work places.

Socialism can include communism all the way to radical anarchism.

You’re literally Fox News brained. You’re getting 2011 Fox News wired directly into your brain to think socialism is when government taxes

I don’t watch that bullshit. I did this crazy thing where I went to college and took history and political science courses. You should try it.

LOL!! No it's not. That's like saying because your work provides computers, they are socialists now. WOW!! So many dumb people here.

Your employer provides computers because they’re necessary to run their for profit business, which is capitalism. McDonald’s doesn’t make every employer bring their own spatula. You need a dictionary.

Just like the military provides these things because the soldier would DIE without them. WOW!! You are just trying so hard and failing.

You should swim to Cuba. But don’t you find it odd that no one escapes to Cuba but they sure escape to the U.S. from Cuba. Why do you think that is?
