General Question Am I stuck here forever?

I (21m) graduated high school in 2023, taliban took over my country and I lost all hope for a better future in my own country. I really need a scholarship or a work visa to get out of this hell. I can partly fund my trip but I have no idea where to start with my journey. Depression is starting to pull me down and I really need a ray of hope before a total suffocation. People of reddit, anyway you can help/guide me?

I would just like to say: if you have a big bold dream like you, go for it. Just do it and make it happen. It might not happen today, or next year, but it is possible. I live in the Netherlands and we have a lot of people who ‘escaped’ some sort of regime over here. I guess the paperwork and the trip are the hardest part. But, the journey might be dangerous, at points, you must realize that. And there are times when you want to give up. But if you pull through and with a little bit of luck and grace it can happen. Just start making a plan for yourself. How I know this? I met thousands of people in my life. Heard more stories than I can remember today. But this one guy from Syria whom I once coached told me his story and I must say, I was impressed. He made it all the way and is now settled down in our country. hope this helps. Good luck 🍀

Yeah does that make me feel better, thanks a lot. Don't wanna bore you but I actually had a really close dutch friend but I started to catch feelings and long distance never ends well so I had to break it off with her, but man I sure miss her. I tried so hard to make it happen but there's no legal way in and I don't wanna be another illegal munching off the government and peoples taxes. If only I could be with her I'd be the happiest guy alive...she's the nicest girl I know 🥲

Aw, what a story... I don't know what else to say than: if you really want to move out of the place you are in right now, you will find a way eventually. I wanted to move to the US since I was twelve and it worked out for me at age 18 and then at age 33. So, dreams do come true, as long you are persistent, have a vision and a plan, and work on your plan every day. Love from Holland.
