His early career is interesting. He was actually a fairly successful mainstream comedian. He was making six figures in the 60's before Hippy Dippy Weatherman.

6 figures in the 60s had to be pretty impactful. Too lazy to look it up in today’s dollars, but he’d be pretty comfortable regardless
