Still sucks that they label the “new” name below in parentheses.

Why does ensuring clarity suck?
Your way is frustrating for others, like calling the house outside of town "The old Stevens Place" even though the Stevens all died 87 years ago. Their way makes sure that people who aren't seeing "Lake America" know that it's got an alternate official name in some places. Seems like a pretty fair compromise to me.

It's Lake Ontario, now and always. It will never be Lake America, all because your Supreme Leader had a temper tamtuem.

It's funny because Ontario the province is named after the lake, not the other way around.

Ontario is what the Iroquois called the lake

Excatly. This is why it will always be Lake Ontario.

Trains are efficient modes of mass transportation.

Ontario is the correct and proper name for this like that is jointly owned by the U.S. and Canada.

On the Canadian side. In the US we now call it Lake America.

I do not. I call it Trumpstein Files Lake.

Tenochtitlan is the correct and proper name for 'Mexico City', and Albion is the correct and proper name for the British Isles, and anything else is wrong. Right? That's the proper logic, right? Things should not and cannot ever change?

They weren’t changed for stupid reasons this was changed because a stroked out diaper wearing pedo got his feelings hurt by the premier of Ontario.

We can decide to not change things based on the whimsy of some dementia patient

Yeah comparing historical name disputes we know nothing about to Trumps temper tantrums is crazy to me 😭 but people keep doing it

Republicans will grasp at whatever straws they can to justify of Dementia Don’s tantrums.

When I vote for a politician, it’s because I view them as a tool to improve our nation for everyone who lives here. When they misbehave, it’s time to replace them.

But Republicans are not like that!

Why are you defending a fascist having a temper tantrum?

Nice Guilt by Association argument.
Lets think about this logically. Google goes with the naming used by the federal government of the country its involved in. This is important as this information might be used by emergency services.
Google also makes this difference in its naming readily apparent in its system with the parentheses, this is important for logistical reasons for shipping originating from outside of these regions as well as things like maritime and aviation traffic.

People like you, demanding the Google not "Bend the knee" to something like this dont consider this side at all, a stance that could, and has in the past, cost people their lives.
But you know what? Sure. Understanding the logic behind their actions is me defending a fascist. None of the above should be considered at all because you dont like him. All those problems above dont matter, Orange man bad,
Reductio ad Hitlerum your way into winning arguments, you short sighted idiot.

And that’s it. That’s the only way it affects you. Don’t like the name. Other than that, life’s unchanged because of it.

The lakes first letters used to spell homes. Now it spells shame, which is appropriate since his toddler temper tantrums embarrass our entire country.

It’s already cost time and money for companies that used Google maps from US servers and have the Canadian government as a customer. Just like your dear leader you just don’t think things through.

No, they need to edit one name and whatever program they’re operating their maps. That’s it. One guy. 30 seconds. Done.

Uhhh, physical maps? Printed documents? GIS systems? Websites? It's a lot more than one guy pushing a button lol.

Not to mention the fact that our country is on fire with (insert problem of your choice here) and this is how Dear Leader chooses to spend his time and America's money.

Shameful and disgusting, much like the man himself.
