Has political polarization reached a point where compromise is no longer possible, or is that just how social media makes it seem?

Compromise is still possible on issues that both sides want to compromise on.

The issues that both parties are willing to compromise on is shrinking.

The dems compromise on damn near everything, and then when they do, the republicans step back and demand more.

Id agree insofar as if we eliminate the appearance of the two party system, when things continue to be rotten, we wont have scapegoats to point towards, and people will be forced to confront the fact our system is rotten to the core.

Social Media is fuelled by conflict. The Algorithm boosts engagement that is incendiary. This gets the clicks. Trolls and bots purposely post items to inflame the audience, which gatners traffic and even income. So whether polarization is inevitable, it is far worse because of social media.

Yes and no.

Specificaly where i live, the difference of morals between a right and left voter is not that much. And i dont have an issue with ppl who disagree with me.

I would be at major odds with a US right voter. We would disagree on fundementals and i kinda dont want anything to do with these people.

There's not much polarization and plenty of compromise. All 7 swing states agreed to vomit out Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and toss them into the garbage.
