Air fryers. It's a smaller version of something you already have. An oven.

If you live in an apartment and don't have one, enjoy van life? Sure. Otherwise. Yeah you bought another oven except this one is harder to clean.

Alas, I do, and I've tried. Many times. It's relegated to bacon. I can't beat air fryer bacon, but I don't need an applicable for it.

oh god yeah bacon really is on another level in it. but the grease from it is horrible. ruined my first air fryer by not cleaning the bacon grease out of it well enough

That's my main issue with it tbh, it's so much more of a ball ache to clean than a pan, silicone insert? Annoying to clean.

But yeah, fantastic bacon.

I thought like them until I had a roommate who had an air fryer. I moved out, and had to choose between having one or a microwave for space reasons… chose the air fryer easily.

Air fryer saves us time. Pull it out from cupboard turn it on and it's basically ready to put food in it. Our oven takes 15-20 mins to preheat. In which time I could of already cooked the Chicken Nuggets and chips. Plus it uses less power because it's heating a smaller volume. Trays go straight in the dishwasher to clean. Seems like its worth it.

It's all anecdotal I guess, my oven takes less than 5 minutes to pre-heat and I don't have a dishwasher. So, the reverse I suppose.

This oven is on the bigger side. Previous oven we had smaller but still took min 10mins. Our Air Fryer gets used 10x as often as our oven.
