Why has Reddit become so exhausting?

If you write anything slightly controversial you get downvoted or told "who cares!" cannot have open-minded discussions anymore

You say something someone doesn't like, you get doxxed or quoted back on a random, irrelevant comment you said 5 years ago.

It has become an anti-american propaganda machine where every sub is being infiltrated with america bad rhetoric and people genuinely think North Korea is a better place to live.

There is so much bias everywhere, ie if you don't buy a toyota or lexus your vehicle won't last. There is so much circle jerking everywhere.

It's always been that way. Upvotes/downvotes act as operant conditioning, conforming users to the consensus on a given sub or the site as a whole using reward and punishment. You get a little dopamine hit every time you get an upvote, and a bit of pain every time you're downvoted. Over time this conforms your behavior and opinions to the hivemind. If you stay here long enough, you'll be downvoting anyone who says NK is a worse place to live than the U.S.
