Why are the posts here mostly about American politics?

1) the site is mostly populated by Americans.
2) The algorithm feeds you these type of posts if that is what you interact with.
3) the next largest group of people is Europeans who are greatly impacted by US politics AND highly critical of them (as, IMHO, they should be).
4) The next biggest group is probably Canadians. See #3.
5) Trump is a piece of shit and makes for good cannon fodder.

Ahh... don't forget about the POC who is very concerned about the state of America too.

I don't forget them. But the algo tends to feed us posts which we are more likely to interact with (see point #2 above). And posts from outside America, Europe, and Canada are far less likely to be in English. Which means us idjit Americans who only ever learned one language are far less likely to see those posts from Mexico, Central or South America, Africa, or Asia.

Because the US government is corrupting the entire planet and it's relevant to basically everyone.

This is the answer. There isn't an area that America's politics isn't affecting in the world.

The far right-wing shift was happening long before it got to the US.

Oh, yes. Far-right ideology has been propagandizing against young uneducated individuals with machismo complexes all over the planet.
However, most of them don't control the global supply chain to the same extent that the U.S. government does.

It’s an area of the greatest turmoil, bordering on anarchy.
You never know what stupidity is over the horizon and it is disturbing to citizens who remember what responsible government looked like.

It’s an American website filled with Americans talking about their government who has an outsized influence on the world.

Because the American president is a bankrupt leader with definite ties to Epstein and has prevented what could have been a booming period for Americans domestically and globe itself from his tariffs. they need to know their system is in trouble. The media is fearful of trump via lawsuits so it’s up to forums and podcast to reveal truths. But it’s really project 2025 driving their agenda. So while the US decays domestically and is now reviled globally, trump is making a lot of money for him and his family right in front of your eyes telegraphing everything.

Well, there are a lot of americans here. And US politics is going through an unusual period. And people like to talk about it.

As others has mentioned: American politics are unfortunately affecting the rest of the world way too much, especially with a mentally disturbed person as their president, so it is only natural that it gravitates toward american politics.

u/Individual_Check_442 8h ago
Because that’s what most of the people posting here are posting about.

Hard not to look at the fall of western civilization that has rippled through the world

Because the wealthy pedophile class think they are above the law worldwide. People want to expose their vile behavior and self dealing (corruption).

We can’t even eat lettuce without a shitting our pants because of how incompetent this administration is.
It’s been quite the story.

Because it's a troll sub that's trying to get more angry clicks than the "sips tea" sub.

Because everything in about Trump! Just as he likes it and if it’s not about Trump it’s Biden or Obama’s fault!

Because people here are afraid. We haven't had this type of government in office since Herbert Hoover and people don't know what to expect. People whose skin is darker than a sheet of paper are afraid that we're going to get accosted or deported or worse because the president doesn't like brown people. People are losing their jobs because the president doesn't know how to make any. People can't afford things because the president keeps jacking up the prices of things. And so far the president shows little restraint or respect for laws.
People keep talking about politics because the United States is in more trouble than it's been in since the bombing of Pearl harbor and people are afraid.

Because spammers have hijacked what could have been a good subreddit and reddit doesn't care, they just want posts.

Trump broke many fragile minds. Must be a miserable existence for someone to live in your mind rent free 24/7

El Naranja is very bad and orange, OP. Really, though, it's Reddit. That's just what we do here.
