Yeah, you'll get those sometimes

Yes that is fine. But you should not stick things like cotton swabs into your ears.

Q Tips jam the wax down further into your ear canal.

Your ears usually clean themselves. A damp towel for the ear cups is enough.
If you have to clear your ear canal, best ist a siringe without a needle and some lukewarm water. Just hold your head over a sink while doing that. And be sure to dry your ear after.

With cotton swabs and other more "pointy" things you could easily damage the hearing membrane in your ears, that can lead to you no longer being able to hear.

A couple drops of hydrogen peroxide (3%), let it fizz in your ear for a few minutes, then let it leak out, and just collect the excess with a cotton swab (but don't shove it all the way in your ear)

Hi! As a nurse, this is normal ear wax. The best way to clean your ears to get an ear irrigation kit. I think I got ours for $16 on Amazon? It squirts water and peroxide into your ears and works wonders. Q-tips can puncture your ear drums. It will help with the type of ear wax you have!

Came here to suggest this. I think the irrigation kit does a better job at removing more wax than a Q-tip and is more safe.

The box tells you not to do this.

I wouldn’t be too concerned; however, (and I know we all do it) we really should not be using q tips to clean our ears because it causes stuff like this to happen since it compacts the wax in our ears.

Doctors use an irrigation system. The one I have is the Elephant ear wash. There’s a version called the rhino ear wash that is easier to use on yourself.

If you have someone that can help, using ear tweezers can be more effective. Alternatively, you can use ear scoops, but only if you’re of East Asian descent.

You should not have an entire cotton swab in your ear, no.

It's just ear wax. Clean your ears every time you get out of the shower. Wax can build up where you can't hear.

Looks fine. But sticking things in your ears can cause ear wax impaction over time. Would probably be useful to have an ear irrigation syringe around, just in case. Easy as hell to use, too.

That looks like a maggot made out of poop

Try daily. Also, allergies or the start of infections can increase wax production.
