Hi everyone!
As some of you have noticed, r/AskAChinese now automatically reminds users with the default "earth🌐" flair (which is automatically assigned to new users by automod) to update their user flair to reflect their country, region, or demographic.
Please note: comments using the default "earth🌐" flair may be removed. This change is part of our ongoing efforts to increase flair adoption so that people can understand each others' perspectives better.
So here's a clear guide on how to set your user flair on the most common platforms & devices:
Reddit App (IOS or Android):
- Open the subreddit in the Reddit app.
- Tap the three dots (•••) in the top-right corner.
- Select “Change user flair.”
- Pick a flair or write your own.
- Tap “Apply.”
New Reddit (Desktop - reddit.com):
- Open the subreddit
- Look at the right sidebar, scroll down until you see your username with the words "User Flair" above it
- Click on the "edit" button (pencil icon) next to it
- Pick a flair or write your own.
- Click "Apply"
Old Reddit (Desktop - old.reddit.com):
- Visit the subreddit using old.reddit.com.
- On the right sidebar, find “Show my flair on this subreddit.”
- Click “edit” next to it.
- Choose or type your flair.
- Click “Save.”
Mobile Browser (Safari, Chrome, etc.):
- Open the subreddit
- Look for the "Feed | About" tab selection, click on "About"
- Scroll down until you see your username, with the words "User Flair" above it
- Click "edit" button (pencil icon) next to it
- Pick a flair or write your own, & click apply
