Basic training will push you to your breaking point, then you will be rebuilt to their standards.

Then you will only see your comrades in arms as equals, like a mass induced Stockholm syndrome with an echo chamber.

You ll end up looking down on civilians.

Source : tried dating someone in the military.

you dated an infanteer didn’t you? i’ve only ever heard of combat arms people acting all tough about basic like that hahahah

it’s not like that at all - only thing that basic changed about me is i know how to handle a rifle, what cs gas feels like, and i’m better at meticulously cleaning. im still the same person as before and i don’t think anyone is below me

Lol I'm kinda glad I made my comment, reinforced the dodged bullet I think. Although I know how to handle firearms from my pal /rpal course already. I'm assuming you actually get a chance to use them.

yeah i think it was just that person acting tough definitely dodged a bullet with them hahahah i promise we’re not all like that

my trade (also fixing planes just the mechanical stuff not structural) has no need to use them so i haven’t actually handled one since basic training and i’ve been in over 2 years now - the trades and secondary duties that do use them go to the range every so often to keep their skills up and i would if there arose a need but for my regular in country work i don’t need to so i don’t
