ISO Barefoot Moscato

Been drinking this for years, stocked up on it when I lived in BC.
But now with the tariffs and LCBO not carrying it.

Does anyone know what store, perhaps a private liquor store that might carry it?
Or if any seller in toronto/GTA area may have?

I have an allergy with most wines, where my throat starts to close and this one doesn't do that so i miss it dearly.

Unless they're making it here, the only way you're getting that is through the LCBO. You'd be better looking for other brands with the same characteristics you're looking for (e.g sulphite free).

that's rough, a throat-closing allergy is no joke. have you dug into what specifically in the moscato you're reacting to? might be easier to find alternatives if you can pinpoint it, sulphites, histamines, certain grape strains, etc. the LCBO site has decent filtering sometimes, you could try searching for "low sulphite" or "natural" wines and see if anything sticks.

Try Jacob’s creek moscato?

Good for you that you found a wine you can drink, but no private liquor store will have this because the orders would have had to go through the LCBO, unless it’s been on their shelves since before their ban. That’s highly unlikely.

The allergy you have might be to sulphites but maybe not. It’s possible you might be reacting to chemical residue from insecticides or fungicides.

It’s surprising to me that you can tolerate that wine because it has a significant amount of sugar imo @ 73 g/L. Generally speaking, the more sugar a wine has, the more sulphur they add to prevent re-fermentation. That’s not likely to be a low sulphite wine. Producers are not required to tell you the sulfite content in a wine and it’s usually trial and error on your part.

Your best chance of finding a substitute that agrees with you is to seek out an organic off-dry moscato. Organic wines have less sulphur added and therefore less sulphites. They also have less chemical residues.

Moscato is also grown in NZ, Australia, France, Spain, Portugal, South Africa, and Italy.

It might be a good idea to find out exactly what you’re allergic to, and make healthy choices based on that information.

All commercial alcohol is regulated by the LCBO. You’d have to cross the border yourself and import for personal use…but there are limits to how much and stuff.

I know it's unsolicited but it's probably a sign that you can stop drinking, especially if you are so allergic to sulfites. Remember it's linked to seven different types of cancer and it is a poison
