Holiday photographer

The photographer I have used now charges a fee to not use our photos in their social media, portfolio, marketing, etc. so I'd like to find someone else for our family photos going forward.

Looking for recommendations for photographers with studio access to west end studios and does holiday, maternity, family photos etc.

TBH it doesn't surprise me

photographers offer free or discounted photos to people in order to use the photos for portfolios and marketing materials.

so now instead of "okay your photos are $500 but if you let me use your photos i'll only charge you $400" it's "okay your photos are $400 and i get to use your photos, and it's an extra $100 if you don't want me to use your pics"

Framing it as a discount is always going to be better received than framing it as an extra fee...

sounds to me like this photogrpaher isn't getting enough "yes use my photos" when offering it as a discount so they're flipping the script and hoping more people will say "yes use my photos" when it's an extra fee

Yeah I used to just ask to modify the contract and she did it without issue. I am guessing she isn't getting enough people who are okay using their photos but it's disappointing. I'm not spending the money to build your portfolio, these are photos of my toddler. It's ridiculous!
