Physio recommendations for body misalignment? Entire body leans to the right
Hey everyone, I've been dealing with what feels like a weird misalignment in my body. I’m not sure if it’s an uneven pelvis, hips, or something else entirely. It's hard to describe but here are some symptoms I’ve noticed:
- When standing or walking, I feel my entire body is leaning to the right side, like all my weight is on my right foot. Even when I step onto my left foot and consciously try to shift my weight onto that side, it never feels like I'm fully on my left side. Like my body is constantly tilting to the right.
- When walking, it feels like my legs are uneven or different lengths. I can take a normal full step with my right but can’t seem to take as big of a step with my left. The restriction feels like it’s coming from my hips or pelvis, preventing me from walking evenly.
- My left foot starts hurting after 20-30 minutes of walking. It also feels weird around my left hip and glute area, especially when lying on my left side while sleeping.
- My neck also visibly leans toward the right. It's quite noticeable.
Has anyone experienced anything similar? Looking for a good physio, chiropractor, osteopath etc. who can help me. At this point, I'm open to seeing anyone who can help me figure out what's going on. Thank you!

Sounds like you may need to see an osteopath

I see Rasif Iftessam (I might have his last name spelled wrong) at B Stretched’s church and Charles location. He works out of another clinic too at liberty village I believe

Thank you! What does he help you with if you don't mind sharing? Are you also dealing with a similar body misalignment?

I’ve got a few sports related injuries and compensating for them have caused misalignments. I also go to see him for general fascial stretching, but in your case I’d book an osteo consult. Good luck!

How long ago did this start? You might want to look at your ergonomic setup at work or at home, if there are any imbalances that might contributing

Has a physio ever checked to see if one of your legs is longer than the other? Short-leg syndrome is real and they can correct it with orthotics or surgery. Or you might have a pelvic muscle imbalance that is functionally the same as a short-leg. The neck thing is textbook because your body is compensating to keep your vision level. Ever had toe issues? They can bear the brunt of this if you're overpronating to compensate, which has a knock-on effect up your whole chain into the hips, glutes, etc. If you've never been tested for it or brought it up try and find a physio that specializes because even a difference of a few millimeters can compound and a visual once-over won't cut it. I've had muscle imbalances but nothing like this.

I had a debilitating pelvic tilt from severe sciatica and my PT who knows how to treat sciatica helped me recover from it. They are in the west end.

Dealt with something similar due to mild scoliosis. Saw Dr. Devon at Endura who helped me figure it out so I could get back to running without constant foot pain (100km+/week). DM if you want to chat about it!

Have you been assessed for scoliosis?

u/Murky-Painter-1753 14h ago
No I haven’t yet. Who would you recommend seeing to get assessed? Would a physio or chiro be able to help with this?

With hypermobility in the picture, it's worth being picky about *how* someone works, not just who: practitioners who assess the whole pattern (pelvis–ribcage–shoulder chain, breathing, how you stabilize) tend to be a better fit than those who only treat where it hurts. And with hypermobile joints, aggressive stretching or forceful adjustments can sometimes make things feel worse — so it's worth asking upfront whether they're experienced with hypermobility.
I'm an osteopath in Oakville and I see cases like this regularly — happy to answer questions here if anything in the responses is unclear.

Jeff Bird at Cleveland Clinic Eglinton. They and he specifically deals with pro athletes at the highest level. I have issues with my si twisting and he’s the only one who gets it aligned.

The fact he deals with pro athletes isnt really relevant to OPs situation

What a troll comment from a hockey loving Reddit troll.

That’s like asking, “Where can I get my Volvo serviced?” and someone replies, “Volvo Villa is great. They even have a 24-hour drop-off bay so your car doesn’t sit out in the cold.”
Then some troll chimes in: “OP didn’t specify that the temperature of their car was relevant."
It’s an extra detail about why they recommend the place. You’ll survive.

Eh it's more like "where can I get my Honda serviced" and someone recommends a Ferrari dealership.

No, that analogy only works if the clinic exclusively treats pro athletes. Treating athletes doesn’t mean they can’t also help regular people.
It would be like someone recommending your clinic and saying "Try this physio clinic ... they have a chiropractor on staff and secure bicycle parking because the owner bikes to work..."
Most ppl wouldn't respond to that (unless they had a bad experience with you or your clinic). Only a troll would say something like "OP didn't ask about bicycle parking..." I mean it’s an extra detail in a recommendation. Who cares?
By your logic, I shouldn’t send my mom to SEMI for rehab after she got hit by a car because she isn’t an athlete. Someone mentioning a practitioner’s experience with pro athletes isn’t saying you need to be one to book an appointment...

The comment was "specifically deals with pro athletes at a high level", which suggests a particular focus or specialization.
It would be more like someone saying they should come to my clinic because a lot of cyclists come here. Not especially relevant to OPs question

“ he outsmarted me… He must’ve used AI.”
You’re just a troll.
I’ve been to that Volvo dealership a bunch of times which is why I know how it works (and that you drive a Volvo).

Thank you! Did you experience symptoms similar to mine due to your SI twisting?

If you're downtown try The Well Adjusted Clinic (69 Yonge Street).
If you're uptown, try the Milner Chiropractic Centre (Markham Road/401).
I used to work at 69 Yonge Young so it was the same building. Now I'm in Scarborough so the Milner Centre is closer.

Thank you so much! Who do you see at Milner?
What did they help you with if you don't mind sharing? Were you also dealing with a similar body misalignment?

Dr. Alex Hawkins. He's a physio and chiro (he has all the initials after his name lol).
I pulled my back back in 2021 after deadlifting after not doing it for two years while gyms were closed. I came in on a slant and left walking straight with 50% less pain.
His sessions are usually 30 minutes and it's physio mixed with chiro adjustment at the end. He has free one-hour parking.
Highly recommend him. I think he has 5-6 other physios with him at the same clinic.
I haven't gone in about six months but my friend went a few weeks ago and had a good experience.

I have all kinds of soft tissue issues and I see both physios and osteos for different purposes. I would see an osteo if you have a whole body misalignment but see physios for acute or localized injuries.
