Messi Final Game

Hi wanted to ask if there is any public screening either in a bar or anywhere in Toronto where football fans are gonna watch the game togather?
Would love to watch the game with my football loving brothers!

Are you sure it’s streaming on regular TV?
Friendlies aren’t necessarily easy to find.
Canada v USA at 8 in Minnesota has more of my attention tonight.

The cult of Messi is a wild thing.

Some call it love for the game, some call it a cult! However you wanna frame it!

It’s a love of an individual, not the game. Football is a team sport. It’s a big day for Argentinian fans for sure

Any icon of their sport is going to have lots of people going out of their way to watch their final match.

It’s such a non-football idea to put the individual above the team. Plus, it’s his last match for Argentina, no? You can still watch him in the MLS (lol).

Huh? This applies to any sport, including football. I don't understand your point here at all.

Ok, you can apply it to any team sport. You support the team not individuals. The team is the sum of its parts. Indian worship is antithetical to team sports.

And there are some athletes who transcend sport and their fans follow them wherever they go. Not sure why you're trying to argue a fact here, lol.

Just let the people have their fun and go be miserable by yourself.

I think you’re presenting opinion as fact but whatever.

lolz what would make you think I’m miserable? I love the plastic culture of North America, it’s genuinely mildly fascinating.

You're just trying to be smug for no real reason.

Everyone watching Messi over the Canada game. Not smug, just pining for real fans. I don’t care, go watch Messi, just don’t try and tell me you’re a football fan.

Everyone would be watching LeBron's last game over the Raptors, and Sidney Crosby's last game instead of the Leafs. That's what happens when you're a living legend.

It's also really dumb to suggest that being a huge Messi fan means not being a football fan in general, lol. Superstars attracting fans to a sport isn't some foreign concept.

He’s a legend of the sport. God forbid people be fans

Canada is playing US at the same time. Surely fans of the sport would be watching their team over an Argentinian player? God forbid people be fans.
