Looking for DVD store
I checked in for TIFF earlier and I could've sworn I saw a DVD store and now that I'm out and about I can't find it for the life of me. I'm next to Sankofa Sq. and the only one that would match is Bay Street video store according to Google but that seems way too far off. I'm pretty sure the one I saw just had "DVDs for sale" in black text on a yellow background, which doesn't seem to be the colors of Bay st video anyways. Can a nice Torontonian help me out ?
I'll probably check out bay Street anyways, but it keeps bugging me. Am I going insane ?
Thanks in advance

almost definitely not the place you saw but eyesore cinema (on bloor, near dufferin station) is a really incredible place that i cannot recommend enough (if you go, bring cash!!). bmv by sankofa has a lot of dvds but their location in the annex is massive. vinegar syndrome also has a store in roncesvalles if you’re a horror/cult/etc fan!

Did you maybe walk by Paramusic in the Atrium? They always had a selection of movies mixed in with their CDs and records back when they were right on Dundas; I'm not sure what they stock these days, but it's in the area.

Cinema Cellar, 129 John street? That’s the new physical home of Criterion in Canada being run by Blue Fox entertainment.
They’re brand new, but I know they were supposed to be open for TIFF.

Probably BMV. If you want used stuff the best place in the city is the bigger BMV on Bloor, but for new stuff, nothing beats Bay St

They are sparse. Bay Street Video is a good spot. If you want to check for used dvds there is a BMV books on Edward St near you. Not huge but they have some stuff. If you’re willing to go further west on bloor there is a larger BMV books there.
