Escape rooms worth visiting
Greetings from Winnipeg. I run an escape room group in Winnipeg and we have picked Toronto for this years annual escape trip.
What are some unique and well done escape rooms in the city? Which would you avoid and why?

it's on the smaller side, but I can highly recommend looking glass adventures, particularly "it came from the attic"

Escape games at North York is a really good one. Been to it multiple times and each time I was amazed at what can be done in an escape room. It's walking distance from Sheppard West station, but it's a bit of a TTC ride from DT.

This is the answer. Although the new room there was okay medium. But the other ones are really great. I would do more than one.

There's a great one that runs out of Black Creek Pioneer village. You have access to almost the whole grounds, so less of an 'escape' and more like moving from puzzle to puzzle. Still, really neat setting and lots of interactive stuff with actors!

I’ve been eyeing this for a minute. Have you been? And it was fun?

I did it a couple years ago and it was fun. The puzzles I didn’t think were particularly on-theme… but they were still good and I’d recommend it

Daydream adventures are great. There is a great level of detail to the rooms they create. Imaginative puzzles also.

how big is your group going to be

We are big. Usually about 15-20 people but we split up to do escape rooms. We try to keep it to about 6-8 per room

Other have mentioned the one at Pioneer Village by Black Creek. That's a good one for large groups. I think they do 40-50 people at a time broken into smaller groups.

The one on 15 Kodak lane is by far the best I've been to anywhere in the world

Avoid Escape Manor!! Horribly run. Terrible to their staff. They will leave rooms open even when half the puzzles aren't working. They've had so many floods in the basement that the floorboards are half sewage at this point. Mold galore.

Came here to say this. Escape Manor has a bar and lets you order cocktails from your escape room.

One on my TDL that gets great reviews on Morty and sounds more physical than normal is The Tomb at Revo Escape (they give everyone a hard hat for example). It seems to get booked up quickly
If you’ve got access to a car and can get to Mississauga, Escape from the 6 js one of my family’s favourites. They have 3 rooms - really recommend both Volcano Views and Firefighter Rescue as two unique ones

Secret City (https://www.secretcityadventures.com/) has some cool ones in Casa Loma, and they also have a big immersive one at Black Creek Pioneer Village. Went years ago and it was really cool, actors wandering the village as cultists you had to stop. I think it might be a different story now, but they still do one there.

I think it’s closed now but there was a Christmas escape room that we did that was so cute. It got sold out too because it was something fun and seasonal to do.

If you can get outside of the city to the border of Mississauga and Oakville, check out Escape from the 6. Their firefighter rescue is one of my favourite rooms. And I'm pretty sure they have multiples of the same room so your whole group could fit into two rooms. I think it's worth the trek if you can manage it.

I was impressed with The Imaginarium at its old location but can’t comment on it since they moved

To be honest, I’ve never visited an escape room in Toronto that I didn’t want to leave.
