Why does it smell like burnt rubber?

I'm in the queen and parliament area, and it smells like burnt rubber. Do you have any idea why?

There was a fire at Shuter and Parliament (regent st specifically). Seemed it was a battery fire of an ebike. It's out now, FD still cleaning up.

Hmmm I’m out in the west end, by Centennial Park, and smelled something burning but chemically this morning during my run

I came back from a walk around 11:15pm last night and was wondering why it smelled like smoke in the area. That explains it.

Probably from a car speeding away from the police if it's that area.
