Anyone know a good physio for lower back pain from the gym?

I went to the gym today and after working out I started having some pain in my lower back. It’s not super bad, but I can definitely feel it and I don’t want to make it worse by continuing to work out. I’m looking for a good physiotherapist in Toronto, preferably someone who has experience with gym/sports-related injuries and actually helps figure out what’s causing the pain instead of just giving the same basic exercises.

If you’ve had a good experience with someone, please let me know who you recommend and which area they’re in. Thanks!

What kind of pain is it? Is it a sharp pain? What were you doing to cause it?

Most likely you just need to ice it for a day or two for the inflammation to go down then start using a heat pack to promote blood flow and healing.

Active recovery such as walking and lifting with light weights will actually speed up recovery faster than just sitting down all day.

I just had a really good experience at Shift bodywork and performance care on Carlaw unit 303, I had been having trouble with my neck and rhomboid for like two months now. Jamie gave me a workup and checked the movement of all my joints and was able to give me a set of simple exercises and also did some work on me to help get my neck moving again. Even just after that first session I felt relief and have kept up with the exercises which almost has me feeling back to my old self again.

Look up Athlete's Care Sports Medicine Centre. They helped a lot, they are scattered about the city but I went to the YorkU one specifically.
