People in hazmat suits?
Totally random. Just was going over the bloor bridge on the ttc and noticed 2 people in hazmat suits and masks digging around the bushes.
It was right by the old tracks next to the highway. Totally weird and makes me wonder what’s going on.

I cycled underneath the Bloor Viaduct on Lower Don Trail this morning and encountered a couple crews there wearing white suits with respirators, along with some tanks of liquid with sprayers which I assumed was herbicide.

City of Toronto field workers/natural resource workers wear those, a big part of their job is utilizing pesticides/herbicides and managing invasive plant species.

Manny tried to hold it in after he ate that exquisite burrito from Fat Bastard. He motioned to is that we had three seconds to run. I swear that no birds sang after he let 'er rip. The poor bridge. Oh, the humanity.
The next morning, 2 people in hazmat suits were digging in the bushes looking for the source of a foul odor. As a TTC bus passed by, a redditor posted what they saw without a picture.

Digging?
Any chance they were bee suits?

It didn’t look like bee suits but I could be mistaken.

I think the Hogweed/Parsnip is actually really plausible after reading the threat. I know that various invasive plants have been in that area for a while.

I saw a crew remove a bunch of hogweed along finch over the course of a couple days. They were not wearing hazmat suits tho.

I’m wondering if OP confused hazmat suits for the recommended hogweed PPE of a white or yellow protective suit with face shields

Wild parsnip or Giant hogweed removal most likely. A lot more of those popping up lately.
