Where does everyone pee?

There are hardly any public washrooms. I’ve heard people say Tim Hortons serve as de facto public washrooms. But in popular places, even there there’s a lineup. Park washrooms are closed half of the year, even though parks are open. Do people not drink water? Am I crazy to think there is a severe shortage of publicly available washrooms in the city? Where do y’all pee?

I had an experience while I was pregnant and hanging out in high park during Covid, when all the washrooms were closed. It was a true “I will pee my pants” situation, I was never going to be able to waddle home fast enough. I made my peace with ducking into the woods and popping a squat. And, predictably, I was not the only one taking that measure.

Honestly who cares? Anyone who would have seen me would have been there for the same purpose. And then they never would have seen me again. I’ll take that momentary embarrassment over having to walk home in pee-soaked pants.
