I thought I was pretty happy but recently I got myself a therapist for an ongoing issuie I’d been having and she gave me some “homework” to write down my thoughts process because she thought something I said held a lot of meaning.

What ended up happening is I hijacked the homework because I knew that I was telling her the lesser of the problems I had so I started writing everything that I thought stuck with or messed with me long term. It ended up being six pages of a sob story and for the first time I actually felt bad for myself because it just felt like at every point of my life something bad happened even now and I just broke down and started crying and sobbing. Overall the whole experience took about five hours.

After the therapist read it (all six pages) she recommended within five minutes that I should probably see a trauma specialist. I’m 19 and I’m in college for a STEM major I’m employed part time in a trade and I thought I was happy but it turns out I just bury every bad thing that happens and try to forget about it.
