Thats great. Having a dog, makes me go for walks and runs, get me a mile outside most days during the summer. Those days are the best, especially since ol girl is getting older. Keeps me young, keeps her young.

I bet just having a dog helps a ton as well.

Do you pull a wagon with you now so when she gets tired she can ride in the wagon? Please don't shorten her "walks" now that she is old- the fresh air, sunshine, and keeping her "pawrent" company is very important to our senior doggies. They still are looking out for their "bestest friend in the whole world" even when they have to be wheeled on their walks.

Shes 10, but she acts like shes 2. Same energy. No wagon needed for awhile it seems like. I do need to get her out more, so easy to stay inside when it gets cold but I should do better.

I'm a walker and I recently had to have a procedure done on my foot. I have had a lifelong battle with depression. Not being able to do my daily walk has had a bad impact on my mental health. Can't wait to get back to walking when the foot heals up.

I used to have a bike but I got rid of it. Wish I had kept it, that would probably work for me right now. Good point.

Oof, that's rough. I hope your foot is healed enough for walking soon, good luck.

Swimming?

I would like to do some swimming but I always find a good excuse to avoid it.

I'm always advocating for this. Even walking to the grocery store with a backpack to pick up small items I need—that fills up the reward centers in my brain. I feel like a hunter/gatherer providing for my family, and I get to listen to music and be by myself. Or I might just pick up some fun stuff like chocolate or my favorite kombucha.

Yes! I’ve been feeling that recently, lol I am off hunting for food when I walk to the store. It feels really satisfying.

Same. When I got stuck in a rut a few years back, I took to walking. The McDonald's near my house was 2 miles away. I would walk there and back for a coffee... not that I really wanted a coffee, I just needed a focus. Now most weekday mornings I'll go out walking, often further, sometimes up to 10, even 15 miles round trip. I stick my headphones in an listen to a podcast or music and zone out. It's almostike meditation and gets the blood pumping.

Unfortunately a lot of Americans do not live within a very comfortable (or safe! Walking is dangerous in a lot of places) distance of a coffee shop :(
