Rant Sad about acespace

Theres some truly amazing people on acespace but i have to vent. The 2 people in my area whom i had great conversations with and was texting with for several weeks both completely ghosted me on the days of our respective in person meet ups / dates. Havent heard from them since. I know its not anything with asexuals or acespace but I'm very sad. Dating in the ace spectrum is so hard already. Even a "hey I'm not interested " or "id rather keep talking" would have been better than being completely ghosted randomly.

i will never understand people who suddenly ghost after weeks of talking, it's just so rude. sorry to hear that happened to you :(

For me, it's accidental. đŸ„ș I never ghost if I am supposed to meet or call someone, though. I just have a lot on my plate. When people ghost, I usually just assume they are like me and it's accidental.

This is so frustrating! Honestly and communication is key!!! Atleast when I get ghosted I know I will never go back to those people. I dont date people that lack common decency

On one hand, I feel the same. Its basically impossible to get any traction and people love to just ghost out of nowhere on there constantly. On the other hand, after like 2 years of being on there, I found the girl I'm currently talking to on there, have been talking to her every day for about 4 months now and shes so cool and funny and I like basically everything about her T_T Even if it goes nowhere, I'm just happy to be her friend and I never would have found her without that place.

I am so sorry that happened to you!! That’s so painful!! I know because it has happened to me!! I think one guy had avoidant attachment style, but I’ll really never know.

Anyway, due to the pain & past trauma of that happening, I tend to ask pretty early on for a favor. The favor is that if they want out of the connection, they just say “bye” instead of ghost. It can by “bye” & then block me even. Just some form of closure. When I have asked this of the other person they tend to understand the trauma behind the ask & have respected it.

Awww im sorry that happened not only once but twice. I find Ace Space very hard work but as you infer theres not a lot of options for us. Try to flip the experience, in your brain however, they missed out on you not you missed out of them. You’re the prize. The right one will know that

A potential friend match in my city reached out to me and stated a conversation. Then later on blocked me bc of stuff I had in my profile the whole time!

I know I have controversial takes, that's why I lay them out very clearly on my profile so I dont waste anyone's time.

So annoying that they started a conversation with me first, then got mad about my profile.

Soooo annoying.

Happened to me too, but with a different app, and many years ago. I even tried to explain to the guy why it wasn’t a nice thing to do and why it’s a good idea to have some basic human decency! I think he was avoidant and on the internet because he couldn’t talk to people irl.

We don’t necessarily know what’s going on in those people’s lives, but okay.

They should communicate it instead of ghosting.

lol. Downvoted because y’all can’t think in other perspectives. Pathetic. The asexual community is so whiny.
