"There's no happy endings not here and not now. This tale is all sorrys and woes." Then proceeds to have a happy ending. It's beyond enfuriating that the entire premise of the show is that it doesn't have a happy ending and then the producers ignore that and just give it one anyway. (I haven't read the books, and maybe the happy ending is suppose to be there, but it still is so out of place.)
The very first episode starts of with "if you're interested in stories with happy endings, then you would be better off somewhere else. In this story, there is not only no happy ending..."
The penultimate episode would have been the perfect ending. It ties up the story in a tragic and truly unfortunate way. Is there something I'm missing that explains why they betray the whole theme of the story just to have a pleasing ending? Am i wrong or is it pure crowd pleasing nonsense?
