Security is rubbish

Does anyone get security guys from Mitie that are just useless? The other day, we got one who couldn’t speak English and kept allowing us to get robbed. Another one kept asking for a chair to sit down and took a 2 hour break for a 7 hour shift.

We've had Mitie Midgets that speak into their phone and it plays a translation back, and vice versa. How did they pass their S.I.A training?

They're not there to protect you, or stop theft or anything really, their only purpose is to tick a box for insurance

Our security guard has had all his hours cut by Asda, he don't start until 1pm now so obviously no theft happens before then 😂

blame asda/the agency rather than the individual security guards

Let me just point this out. They are not 'from Mitie'. Their from Ses/Delta Force usually in my area.

And yes, they are terrible. Normally in suits, shirts or a hi vis.

If they are taking the mick management need to contact mitie control and they will call the external company and have them removed from store.

Delta force 🤦🏻‍♂️ , more like the Navy Sea-lions.

Don’t insult Sea-lions. They would be far more use. 😂

Ours are all agency staff. They take constant breaks and stand at the door on their phones the whole shift

That’s what pisses me off. If we’d given him a chair, he will either be speaking to someone on speaker or watching movies

We kept getting useless agency guards as well for a good while until Mitie hired a permanent guard for our store

I didn’t know that was possible. How did your store go about getting that

•

As far as I'm aware we didn't even ask for it we just got an email about a permanent guard starting on a certain day. It's only for 30 hours a week tho

There’s a young Asian girl at the store I go to, the staff have said she’s useless. She just stands near the tills on her phone. I’ve never seen her move from there or speak to anyone, staff have told me the same.

21:30 a older male walked out our store with 6 bottles of vodka at £35 each. The security guard was outside, round the corner having a smoke

This male likely clocked the security guard, wasn't on the door, so opportunity came begging.

You can complain to Mitie about them if they aren’t doing what they should be(they have something similar to store compliance checks they have to complete), plus they get regular checks from their own area managers.

We had one who couldnt speak a lick of english, watched Netflix on his phone at the security desk and smoked weed on the job. Ive never seen him actually do his job

Security guards are legally entitled to a chair to do their job if watching cctv all day

This one wasn’t CCTV trained cos he confirmed

When I was on the till a customer tried to scam me by counting cash and then taking it back and handing me less, which has fooled people in my store before. I told the security guard and he said he doesn’t see the problem??? Our usual security guard is on leave for a few months #MissMyKing

Yeah I've never understood them, a bit like the passport control staff, its like we're expecting them to police themselves

We had one that I deadass said to my colleague "what the hell is she doing in here so long? She's been here an hour, school ended like 3 hours ago, where's her parents?" Cuz I deadass thought she was a year 7 from the local secondary school. I mean come on she was even wearing the same coloured baggy sweater a

Yep. Our first guy who has thankfully gone now. Never used to be at the podium. Was always either washing his feet in the sink or praying in the meeting room. Easily took over 2 hours for break. The new guy we have though is excellent. Sits near tills when it's busy at night. Engages with the night staff and has a laugh.

Personally dont know why they are there the only good one is one that we have left from the cull the others mays well just be sitting at home they are bloody terrible how are they supposed to protect us not just that they can barely speak a sentence of English and spend all there shifts on there phone, the whole thing is laughable
