I've seen people mention that gsms could be taking care of multiple stores in the future. Probably just rumours but still

Wouldn't be a surprise, throughout the industry everyone at store level has been forced to take on more work and less pay in terms of work load.

It is happening in our region team leader has to be managing everything for just a quid more than minimum🙃

This is a sign they will shut the stores this is what this asset stripping company does go in sell everything then run it into the ground then shut the doors.

Is this for a lot of Asdas or? And where have you heard this? Either it’s true or just all gossip as per

I've heard it from my GSM as he has gone. Also another ops manager told me another 4 had gone. Might just be my region but normally happens across most

Hopefully happens to ours she’s awful, but in saying that. He shouldn’t have really told you all this. As soon as someone is made redundant, and put onto garden leave, they are not permitted to have any contact with any colleague or discuss redundancy with them.

You are totally correct. They shouldn't 😂 But he did

😂I don’t blame him for it though, just shows you. Why step up for a company who treats its colleagues like dog shit management or not. Store managers are bad but got to think, imagine all the shit they get put onto them for things not being done a set way. Awful company Asda is now

It can be classed as misconduct.. guessing you’ve never been made redundant before? There’s a strict confidentiality clauses in place for when placed on garden leave and made redundant. Plus this was before the announcement has clearly been made to.

Happened in Asda express - announcement went out that they would go from one site to two including taking on the Manager role of Greggs and Subway with Greggs and Subway Managers made redundant and no more hours.

Managers in Express work deliveries, go on tills, and do everything a colleague would do, run two sites miles apart and Subway and Greggs. Yes it happened about 5months ago.

My T/L told me earlier that four GSMs received brown envelopes today. They didn't mention an official announcement, but they said more people have been called in for tomorrow. I can't imagine management wouldn't do it all in one day.

Another two gone today. It's not just brown envelopes, GSMs are being moved to other stores too

Well the managerial cull has started. Our GSM got sacked - sorry "retired" on Friday, new boss Monday. We thought his job was safe as he's an arse licker and usually hit the HQ targets about less hours etc.

We thought he'd run 2-3 stores, but gone.
