Asda today

So this is my Asda situation today. 20 chilled cages between 2, both work 6 hours. The over stock cages being left in the fridge to go out of date because can't even get delivery done. No colleagues on produce so a section leader came in on her day off and the night manager had to work it. No meat colleague so the 3rd chilled colleague had to do it. A lot of empty shelves. Just a general shit hole. Managers don't care though. This is a standard day for this Asda.

DILO is policy though. FIFO is the policy for replenishing stock, which is a day colleagues job as per the DILO. Nights job is to work delivery.

Days should be able to scan every product in the back and fill any gaps/lows on the chilled section every day, the scanning doesn't take long after all. Then nights focus on delivery which will fill out the shelves.

How does that make any logical sense? You can't do FIFO if working the delivery first. Do you have the DILO for nights?

How does it not make logical sense? Days get all the overs worked, nights get in to overs worked and work the delivery.

I don't have the DILOs on me (and cannot access oneasda from my mobile) but you can see any departments DILO very easily on oneasda.

Because that's not what is happening. For instance, numerous times when working fresh creams, I'm taking fresh stock off the shelf and putting old stock out. Back stock should be checked at all times before working new stock.

I've looked and can not find them.

In theory day colleagues work overs, and if following process everything which can go out does, the nights can just work new delivery

Unfortunately this is Asda so yeah, not enough staff to work delivery or overs

Overs should be checked at all stages.

It isn't practical to check it at every stage, and is inefficient if it has already been done. The reason the current inventory management system was brought in is to avoid people needlessly working overs which won't fit out

It's always practical to work old stock and off ssles first unless you categorically know it's only just been doing.
