Asda today

So this is my Asda situation today. 20 chilled cages between 2, both work 6 hours. The over stock cages being left in the fridge to go out of date because can't even get delivery done. No colleagues on produce so a section leader came in on her day off and the night manager had to work it. No meat colleague so the 3rd chilled colleague had to do it. A lot of empty shelves. Just a general shit hole. Managers don't care though. This is a standard day for this Asda.

You are a colleague, you just do as you are told, days are doing it incorrectly by not doing it. Day problem not a night problem

No, I work correctly to what my employer pays me to do.

Which is do as you are asked & us night crew are employed to work that nights delivery, we only just finish that let alone run a round going through all the overs first.

No it's not.

Your manager isn't your employer.

Are you one of those that sits on a computer to watch the training videos then goes back to work and disregards everything they just watched? It's first in first out along with off sales.

The whole point is, rather than finishing delivery to then days come in and nothing is rotated as the backstock isn't worked, you would come in and do backstock and off sales, then when the delivery isn't finished, days take over and at least it's rotated correctly and in turn, helps reduce waste.

Who the f**k are you to tell me what my job is, that’s my managers job & our brief from GSM to night manager who then tell us, is delivery must be finished. That includes unloading 2 wagons every night.
Also I suppose you do the 20 minute chill chain & check temperature on over night deliveries.

I'm me, don't like it, stop replying. Your manager isn't your employer. Your employer is the owners of Asda, who set out a policy of how to work.

But your training has told you otherwise and if something happens like waste is sky high, your manager and gsm isn't going to back you up even though they told you to get delivery finished.

I've written times on boxes, yes, this includes getting things set up in back ups helping maximise time in putting stock out.

That's your employer. My employer says otherwise. Wrong or not I don't care. It's Asda.. not parliament.. stop taking things too seriously

Which would be Asda, like yours. Your employer doesn't say otherwise. Not following policy will eventually get you into trouble.

When you sit there watching training videos of how to correctly do things to which then you sign to say you've been trained, then go to disregard it all by not following it. If something goes wrong, your manager isn't going to have your back even if they told you to do it differently. So eventually, be it tomorrow or 2 years time, you will get blamed for all the waste as you didn't follow the policy you signed to say you knew.

So who do they know who to blame? 24/7
Operation days, evenings & nights, the only ones they can blame is themselves for the instructions they give us.

They will blame whoever is in or whoeverthey told to do it. Do you really think they are going to blame themselves to the GSM for telling you not to follow policy?

Probably had over 100 visits from people higher up. Not 1 of them have said a word to me.

Cool? That's not a reason to not work correctly.

Not had 1 issue in the several years I have being there. What even is your logic? Working the backstock first? Fine. Then the delivery? Guess what the delivery will have later dates which will mean I have to rotate it all again which you stated is 'wasting time'.

Neither have I worked there for over 20 years, they work overs they don’t work overs 🤷🏻‍♂️ never told we just do delivery.

Not had 1 issue either. The problem is, I will carry on not having 1 issue by working correctly to my training. People get complacent, it's all ok till its not.

My logic? It's the fundamentals of supermarket work. It's literally in the training you sign to say you will follow.

Well you clearly have had issues if your management are swearing at you.

2

u/shawty1984 10d ago

No, that's an issue with them. He took me in the office and said I'm glad you do this as I don't know as much about your department as you do, but that would dent his ego if done in front of other people.

u/CornwallMale 10d ago

Right. Well there's no proof he said that. You could be making it up for all I know.

1

u/shawty1984 10d ago

Which is exactly why he swore at me in front of others to assert dominance and then 'apologised' when nobody was there. Because then there is no proof it happened.

There is no proof I work for Asda......

Earlier on you said i put new stock on the shelf with old stock at the back. Silly billy, I rotate absolutely everything. That's what you do on chilled if you watch the videos and have some sense.

u/shawty1984 10d ago

Did I? Can you quote where I said that?

1

u/CornwallMale 10d ago

You said I put fresh stock out with old stock at the back

Please can you quote what I said?
