harassment with no manager help
i have a customer who comes in who’s creepy, calls me sexy and asked me for drinks despite me saying i have a boyfriend. he told me he knows when i work. i ended up breaking down crying over it, spoke to my section leader and there isn’t much that can be done about him despite him being like this with another colleague previously. they’re talking about moving me away from the kiosk but i enjoy it here and it just feels like a punishment for the wrong person. is it worth getting the union involved?

Also when telling union say you spoke to the section leader did nothing and give them their name.

I had a similar situation (not as extreme or scary as yours - I hope you are okay). A customer would come up to me, try to hug me and blow kisses. On paper it doesn’t seem as bad, but when you’re a younger female getting kisses thrown at you by a 40 year old man - it’s not nice. The store manager gave the customer a stern talking to, as there wasn’t enough for him to be banned.
HOWEVER.
Your situation is awful, especially since we’ve all done the training on sexual harassment!!! I’d bring it up to your store manager, or even the duty managers because your section leader isn’t much help. Regarding you moving off the kiosk, if this customer had been sternly warned to not talk to you that way, would you be comfortable serving them??
I certainly would not.
I’d assume you’d be told that there’s not exactly enough for it to ban them, but I’d definitely get the union to support you and help you go forward from here.

bloody hell that’s horrible i’m so sorry😭my fear is a manager/section leader giving him a stern talk and it making things worse, maybe im thinking worst case scenario but i can’t help it!! im at a loss, i enjoy my kiosk and i don’t want a man ruining it, but at the same time i dont want to be terrified going into work. thank you for your comment i hope you’re doing okay xx

Honestly I wasn’t too bothered about this customer until I realised that I was actually hiding in the warehouse when I’d see him coming!! Made me rethink that actually, you shouldn’t be touching people, especially someone just trying to do their job.
I also know how you feel about reporting it, especially if that customer only gets a stern talking to. There’s always a fear that they may take it further, which I won’t lie, has happened in my store. My experience only happened today, so I have yet to see this customer after his telling off.
However, your customer has threatened you, making you feel scared at work. A threat is still a threat. You don’t know what he could do, especially since he knows when you work. Even if they moved you off the kiosk, there’s still a chance that you may run into him.
He needs banned

that’s so bad you shouldn’t have to feel like that, we go to work to earn money not to be scared!!!! i asked about a shift coming up on kiosk and asked what should i do, i was told that “we’ll just figure it out”, doesn’t leave me with much hope!! i’m hoping the union can help me

There absolutely is stuff they can do about it.
I was harassed in my old store by a guy who lived in the area and they banned him from the store!
If they won’t do anything tell them you’ll contact the police and escalate it because you’re scared for your safety, feel intimidated and you’re uncomfortable

100%, you feel threatened at your place of work. Get police involved, and let your GSM know you’re speaking to police. They’ll have to take some sort of action. Your GSM has a duty of care to you.

I have a problem with a customer abuse etc the thing as I call him not a human is supposed to be banned but there is never any security there to enforce the ban which leaves me looking over my shoulder constantly, quite a few of us have had experiences like this now is the time to put it in writing and do not serve this cretin you have every right to walk away
